What is a resort fee? It’s a charge added to your bill on a nightly basis for “services”. These charges are not listed up-front when ordering a vacation package, from a travel agent or on Expedia like sites.
In some rare cases the charge is actual worth the service (provided that you use it). Unfortunately in most instances it is purely an under-handed cash grab to up the overall cost per nights stay.

What a giant f###ing ripoff. Lets be honest here, they are just trying to scam their guests. Don’t fall for it.
My wife and I travel to Vegas twice a year, and I have always hated the resort fees. It’s another hidden cost, just like the luggage fee for airline travel. You forget that they exist until is too late. I would just as soon see the casinos up the nightly rate of the room, and don’t try and steal from my back pocket with they crazy fees.
We have stayed several times at the Palazzo as invited guests at discounted rates and NEVER paid a resort fee. Maybe it’s “optional” and you only pay if you use some of the resort facilities, but that’s not the same thing as a mandatory fee.
I’m guessing the Venetian is the same in policy, since they are owned by the same company.
We stayed at the Sante Fe in July and the stupid resort fee was $14.99…so the 1 nite free was actually paid for by this.
